LeBron James sported the new Philippine-inspired colorway of his signature shoes for the first time during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 107-92 loss to the defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors in Orlando on Saturday.
James had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Lakers while sporting the Nike LeBron 17 Low colorway known as “Agimat.” James and company, however, struggled in the fourth quarter as the Raptors completed a sweep of their two-game regular season series.
His choice of footwear came a day after the red-colored shoes containing symbols connected to Filipino culture were released by the shoe company and local store Titan.
It was the fourth version of the Agimat under James’ shoe line, but the first version using red colors.
The first three versions of the Agimat — Lebron 15, LeBron Soldier 12 and LeBron 16 Low — were blue.
James wore the Lebron 15 version of the Agimat during a 2017 NBA Playoffs game opposite the Raptors as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers
He also sported the Lebron 16 Low in a preseason game against the Golden State Warriors last October.
